Bringing user research and UX design to cardiologists to help simplify the interaction framework of cardiac ablation surgery.
These designs were used to get funding to build the new device.
Existing devices used by cardiologists were excessively complex. This meant they were using computer keyboards as consoles in surgery. The keyboard functions were hard to learn and easy to trigger accidentally.
I conducted user research with key stakeholders at the hospital. These insights were used to map out the key functions. I then made CAD models of the new device and directed the design of the accompanying GUI.
Designs for a physical console and matching GUI, that streamlines the functionality of two different consoles, into one multi-functional device. The aim of the designs was to unlock funding to manufacture.
